NLM education programmes are 'need based', relevant and unique. Developed in-house, compatible with the intellectual, educational and economic capability of the local communities, designed for flexible replication elsewhere.

Established in 1997, the NLM schools named " SANSKAR KENDRA SCHOOLS "are located in two different villages, Hoshiarpur and Garhi Chaukhandi, and are administered through an independent 'Education Committee'. Over 700 children upto class V are studying in these Schools.

Vocational Courses to help the students to either get employment or start some work on their own are held regularly in the Scools.

Many ladies after completing the Cutting & Tailoring courses are doing their own business and earning their livelihood.

Salient features of our Educational activities :

SANSKAR KENDRA SCHOOLS :

The NLM individualized system involves the following simple steps :

.   SANSKAR KENDRA children are free from the burden of books.
.   A qualified educator introduces the child to stimulating thought, activity and creativity,      inculcating a spirit of enquiry and self-expression.
.  Structured activities, movements and exercise build a healthy physique and enhance      muscle and coordination abilities of eye-hand, hand-mouth.
.   Children are encouraged to identify colours combinations, size, shape, and texture.
.  An atmosphere of love understanding and appreciation helps the child to control and     express her/his feelings and more     importantly in the process, to respect the feeling of     others.
.  The qualities of citizenship, commitment to hard work and excellence are stressed in the     curriculum.
.  At 'SANSKAR KENDRA' schools the word "don't" is not advised and educators     recommend the same to the parents.
.  Children learn by example to be polite, good, kind, gentle and generous.
.  Special emphasis is laid on the inculcation of 'sanskars' (basic values) while simultaneously     laying the foundations of silence and prayer.
